Signals from the Sea is part of the Lost islands performance project at the Helsinki Biennial 2021. The installation combines elements of 3d animation, electronic sound, vocals and Artificial Intelligence. By deploying machine learning on an archive of submarine cables and marine biological lifeforms, the installation unveils a non-human entity spawned out of the crumbling infrastructures of the so-called Anthropocene.
